The purpose of this study is to examine the programs of Korean language education as a short-term foreign language in DPRK. To this end;the current status of Kim Il-sung University;Kim Hyung-jik University of Education;Pyongyang University of Foreign Studies;Kim Chol-ju University of Education;Pyongyang University of Tourism and Chongjin Foreign Language School are examined. In the case of Kim Il-sung University and Kim Hyung-jik University of Education;various studies have analyzed the Korean language curriculum;but since other schools were not known;the study focused on Pyongyang University of Foreign Studies. For the study;interviews were conducted with learners who participated in short-term Korean language programs in North Korea. As a result;it was found that all six schools were operating short-term Korean language programs for 3 weeks between July and August. In addition;Kim Il-sung University and Kim Hyong-jik University of Education conducted classes in the same manner as the ‘Chosun Exchange Scholarship’ program;but in the case of Pyongyang University of Foreign Studies;classes were divided into ‘Language’ and ‘Literature’ classes.
