This paper examines language gap between South and North Korea and predicts the translation aspects after unification of Korea based on the socio-cultural role of translation. The language gap has been considerably big in terms of their own language philosophy and policy since the division of the Korean Peninsular in 1953. It has made such a remarkable progress among various enormous efforts bridging the gap between the two Koreas that the publication of the Integrated South and North Korean Dictionary will be completed in 2019. And in the case of a high demand of intra-lingual and inter-lingual translation after unification, all kinds of mass and publication media need to find the proper and active measures to satisfy the target readers' readability. Keeping pace with the demand and aspects of translation, comprehensive policies of unification of the Korean language should be established at all governmental and academic levels.
