The purpose of this study is to compare the achievements between Mustafa Kemal and Syngman Rhee in the field of political diplomacy, economy and education. The founder of Republic of Turkey, a effective dictator; Kemal Pasha radically transformed Turkish society, politics and law, based on his Kemalism, its citizens adopted Western standards of model, the Latin alphabet, secularism and industry. As a result of his efforts, Turkey was changed into one of the modernized country in the world. Syngman Rhee, who is the founder of Republic of Korea, has been criticized severely due to his dictatorship at home and abroad. But It was he that had a lot of illustrious achievements for Korea in the field of political diplomacy, economy and education. Especially, the deterrence of North Korea' invasion to South Korea and Korean․U.S. Mutual Security Treaty were his great accomplishments. In my opinion, his achievements have to be widely recognized. The reevaluation of Syngman Rhee should be made in near future.
