The Iron Age culture of the Northern Han-river and Kangleung area has not been studied much. However, the Iron Age culture of the area has been exposed by recent salvage excavations. Contemporarily, a number of sites were excavated and studied. The number of settlements and artifacts were able to provide primary information about the Iron Age in the Northern Han-river and Kangleung Area. This data allowed us to compare the contemporary Iron Age's Settlement System in the Northern Han-river and Kangleung Area. Iron Age settlements, in general, were located in sedimentary- deposited hill which was lower than 100m sea level. Various types of settlements have been found at the Northern Han-river and Kangleung Area : rectangular shapes, square shapes, trapezoid shapes, 凸-shaped, and 呂-shaped. 凸-shaped, and 呂-shaped settlements were landmark styles of Iron Age culture in these area. Settlements were also located near water sources such as streams and lakes. Settlements produced paddled-potteries, projectile points, dagger, and other various artifacts. The absolute dating of those sites indicated they existed around B.C. 1-A.D. 4 century. The settlement system and attributions of those artifacts also support the dating results. This data provided us primary information about the environmental setting and artifacts production strategy. However, the functional and structural relationships between 凸-shaped, and 呂-shaped have not been studied enough. Further research will provide better understanding of the Iron Age culture of the Northern Han-river and Kangleung area
