This research examines the building history of North Korea’s literature circle and the Juche literature. Upon liberalization from Japanese colony, Korean authors participated into recovering of Korean culture with efforts to organize a literature organizations comprehending the right and left wing. However, an ideological difference catalyzed division of the literature circle depending on their preferred ideology. Then Korea authors should stand one side by one’s ideological view since the liberalization was embedded on the outset of Cold War international order. At that time, South Korean government did not have obvious policy dealing with authors and artists. Meanwhile North Korean government aggressively brought authors and artists into its control and encourage them to build their organization prop up propaganda of the newly commenced Socialist regime. North Korea’s Worker’s Party leaded the building of nationwide author’s organizations that resulted in the Party-oriented writings. The Party justified inspection under a cause of rooting out vestiges of Japanese colonialism and suppressed liberal writing atmosphere. The inspection continued to achieve the Party-driven writings. An “Eunghyang occurrence” marked the shifting point from liberal writing environment to the Party-driven creation atmosphere. After the occurrence, the North Korean literature maintained as a regime-friendly literature.
