In the contemporary world, the actual and potential conflicts exist widely elsewhere. They are threatening the health of human society and stability of international order. Even more, in the regions where conflicts happen, the regional security has been damaged, the economic construction has been restrained, and the regional peace and development could not be safeguarded eventually. Therefore, the conflict resolution has always been the critical task for the official and academia of international security. In the process of conflict resolution, it should be noted that the prevention is much more important rather than resolution. Owing to the international conflicts being from the confrontation among nations, the rational ways to be chosen is to diminish or even to end the confrontation between one another. As a result, the international crisis could be impeded efficiently from escalation to the outburst of the conflict or even war. There are various security issues exiting in Northeast Asia affect the war and peace in this region. Even more, they are to make contribution to the security and stability for the entire international security. Currently, the North Korean nuclear crisis, originated from the confrontation between North Korea and the United States, would be the most dangerous issue threatening the outbreak of international conflict among nations. Therefore, for the nations in Northeast Asia, it is a very important task to prevent from the existing confrontations turning to the violent conflicts. This paper will discuss the theoretical framework of conflict prevention, and give an explanation to the methods for the ways to avoid the armed conflicts or war led between the confronted parties in Northeast Asia.
