Korea marked the anniversary of major historical events developed after the opening of a port with the government-designated Korean history textbook issue in the year of 2014 and 2015. It would be confirmed that there are microhistorical studies tending to verify agony, indignity and life of people who experienced the Sino-Japanese War and the Russo-Japanese War.
Even in issues focusing the pillage of the world powers and coping with such pilage after the opening of a port under a binary structure of invasion and resistance, there is a movement over its boundary. Studies analyzed the truth of the world powers in the situation that the western countries, Japan and Russia plundered Korea and exposed irrationalities of them. Meanwhile, they took the introspection to think back our recognition and attitude.
In the understanding and interpretation of intellectuals at the time of enlightenment and the Late Period of Chosun, there are various layers and spectrum of characters` group. The study about foreigners experiencing Chosun has been extended and deepened. It indicates that Chosun tried to explore, compare and accept the western culture and to prosper with them more than the western countries tried to contain Chosun.
The study for Korean modern history will seem to be developed to restore the past when three countries of East Asia attempted to understand and accept mutually and to expand the category of Korean history.
