[학술논문] 한국 평화통일 전략의 허실과 새로운 지평
한국은 평화통일의 실현을 국가적․국민적 과제로 설정하고 평화통일전략을 법제화해 놓고 있다. 실천적 의미에서 한국의 평화통일 전략은 1970년대 박정희 정권시기에 들어 와서 공식적으로 표출되기 시작하여 지금까지 견지되고 있다. 그러나 한국의 평화통일전략 이행과정에서 다양한 긍정적·부정적 여파가 노정되기도 하였다. 본고에서는 한국의 평화통일전략의 허실을 분석하고 평화통일전략의 새로운 지평을 모색해 보고자 하였다. 한국의 평화통일전략은 민족 중심적 패러다임에 치중해 왔다고 한다면, 북한은 국가 중심적 패러다임의 대남 평화통일전선전략을 적극 전개해 왔다. 한국은 남북문제를 민족내부 문제로 접근하고 풀어나가야 한다는 견지 하에서 북한에 대해서 상당히 관대한 ‘포용적’ 기조를 유지해 왔다

[학술논문] Revisiting the Engagement Policy: On the Relevance of the “Sunshine” Policy
...adopt some of its basic ideas because they derive from previous concepts mutually agreed on between North and South Korea. We believe that the “Sunshine” policy principles constitute the only realistic and adequate approach to inter-Korean rapprochement which is the single path to a peaceful and an independent unification of Korea without any foreign interference or external pressure.

[학술논문] Dilemma of South Korea’s Trust Diplomacy and Unification Policy
...ensure peace and stability between the two Koreas. At the same time, South Korea needs to recognize different priority of North Korean motives among security, well-being, and self-esteem in order to develop effective strategy to build mutual trust with Pyongyang. It needs to continue to engage Pyongyang to build mutual trust and stable partnership first to achieve an eventual peaceful unification.
