[학술논문] 국제정치이론 관점에서 본 오바마 행정부의 외교안보정책
...추구하면서, 동아시아에서 역외균형전략을 추진하는 모습은 신현실주의를, 아프가니스탄에 대한 대규모 병력증원과 MD의 지속 추진은 신현실주의 이론 중에서도 공격적 현실주의를 정책으로 실현하고 있는 것이라고 할 수 있다. 핵안보정책의 전반에 자유주의와 구성주의가 바탕을 이루고 있지만, 세부적으로 이란에 대해서는 자유주의, 북한에 대해서는 방어적 현실주의가 적용되는 등 정책의 구체적인 부분에서 보다 다양한 이론들이 또 적용되고 있다. 따라서 오바마 행정부 외교안보정책의 기조는 자유주의적 국제주의의 큰 틀은 유지하면서 그 이면에는 다종의 국제정치이론이 개입되어 있다는 점에서 ‘포괄적 자유주의적 국제주의’(comprehensive liberal internationalism)라고 부를 수 있을 것이다.
