This study examines the current status and challenges of Korean language education for children of North Korean escapees born in third countries and to explore future educational directions. The paper analyzes educational institutions providing Korean language education to these children and includes in-depth interviews with administrators and teachers from key institutions. Data were collected between November 5 and December 17, 2024, focusing on interview participants, institutional characteristics, operation types, and the current status of curriculum implementation. The findings highlight the need to diversify the Korean language curriculum, integrate holistic education into the curriculum, and enhance teachers’ evaluation capabilities. These suggestions are expected promote the self-realization and educational development of children of North Korean escapees born in third countries.
