This study firstly analyzed chronologically after considering how the role, function, goal, and social influence of North Korea’s national library have been changed and developed historically. Second, by synthesizing these analyses, this study establishes the status, major current condition and characteristics of North Korea's national library. Also it is expected to be used for fundamental policy data in the aspect for the process of combining South's and North's library in the future. For research method, it was processed by comparative analysis by finding related data from main original text; 'Rodong Shinmun' which is North Korea's representative daily newspaper as well as party organ and History Dictionary etc. For this process, I retrieved the 'Rodong Shinmun' data-based article that is from 1960 to 2013, by the help of 'Information Center on North Korea' in ‘Ministry of Unification.’ As a result of the search, there were total 91 articles related to 'National Center Library' and 'Grand People's Study House' which were performed as North Korea's National library. As a result of this study on the main data after it was divided into chronologically, North Korea tried to use the national library(Grand Peoples' Study House) as an information base that supports idolization of Kim Ill-Sung's lineage, thought control and economic growth. For the public, it can be constructed as the show off the superiority of socialistic education and leader of North Korea's love for people.
