한국어음운론 연구는 개별 방언에 대한 귀납을 통해 이루어질 수 있는데 그 이유는 한국어의 하위 방언인 각 방언의 음운체계와 음운현상이 명확하게 연구되었을 때 비로소 한국어 전체를 대상으로 한 한국어음운론 연구가 가능하기 때문이다. 본 연구는 이제까지 한반도 남쪽에만 치우쳐 연구된 음운론 연구의 대상과 범위를 넓혀 중국 단동지역에서 현재 사용되고 있는 한국어를 대상으로 공시적 음운현상을 분석하였다.
논의 순서는 우선 현지 조사과정을 통하여 수집한 자료를 바탕으로 이 지역어의 음운체계를 밝혔는데 크게 자음, 유음, 활음, 모음 등 네 부류로 나누어 검토 하였다. 다음 형태소 경계에서 일어나는 공시적인 음운현상을 그 변동 양상에 따라 ‘교체, 탈락, 삽입, 축약’이 네 유형으로 구분하여 논의하였다. 논의를 통해 음운체계는 중부방언과 비교해 보았을 때 /ㅈ, ㅊ, ㅉ/ 등 부분 자음의 음가차이를 비롯한 꽤 큰 차이가 있었고 음운현상은 큰 차이가 없었는데 서북방언의 기타 하위 방언과는 아주 비슷함을 알 수 있었다. 또한 매체 등의 발달로 개신형이 존재하는가 하면 언어적으로 상대적으로 고립되어 왔기에 고어의 자취도 많이 남아 있었다. 한국어의 실체는 자연어의 실제 모습인 방언에 대한 연구를 통해서만이 더 확실히 밝혀질 수 있는데 본고의 논의를 통해 서북방언의 한 하위방언의 모습이 어느 정도 드러났다는데 그 의의가 있다.

Korean phonology studies can be done through the induction of the individual dialects because the Korean sub-dialect is due to finally allow the Korean phonology study of the entire Korean when each dialect phonological and phonetic phenomenon is clearly research to be. This paper aims to analyze and describe the phonological phenomena of current Dandong Dialect.
First I establish the phonological system on the basis of the data collected through the field survey. Phoneme catalogue can be divided into four groups, including consonant inventory, liquid inventory, glides inventory, vowel inventory. Then I deal with the phonological process occurring at the morpheme boundaries in this dialect with some phonological rules. The phonological process has four subtypes such as alternation, deletion, insertion, and contraction. The phonological system, when compared with the central dialect, has considerable differences, including the difference in the phonemes of the partial consonants such as /ㅈ, ㅊ, ㅉ/. There are new types due to development of media. Because it was relatively isolated from language, there was much trace of archaic word. But phonological phenomenon was found to be very similar to the other sub-dialect of the Northwestern dialects. There are Korean entities of which I have revealed the appearance of a sub-dialect of the Northwestern dialects degree through discussion paper to believe that it can be revealed only through research on the physical appearance of tongues of its natural significance. It is meaningful to be able to provide evidence for Korean language history research.
