초록
During the Korean War, North Korea's wartime commerce system had an important meaning in carrying out a prolonged war. By maximizing the remaining internal sources in the North Korean region, it was intended to support the front line while promoting the stability of the people's livelihood. To this end, the North Korean government attempted to secure food and daily necessities by reorganizing the commercial distribution network centered on the consumer cooperative while utilizing the existing commercial distribution network that survived the bombing. Due to the US bombing, the production facilities for daily necessities were unable to operate normally. The North Korean government expanded the role of consumer cooperatives, emphasizing small-scale self-production and purchasing of daily necessities such as food and clothes in rural areas. This has come to serve as a key product not only for frontline assistance, but also for people's livelihood stabilization policies.
