The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between person-environment fit, self-efficacy, sociocultural adjustment, and life satisfaction of North Korean defectors. To achieve this research purpose, five hypotheses were proposed, and a research model for sociocultural adjustment for life satisfaction in South Korea was examined. A research survey was conducted on 72 North Korean defectors working in the restaurant industry in South Korea. The results of this reasearch can be summarized as follows. First, the person-environment fit of North Korean defectors affected self-efficacy. Second, the person-environment fit of North Korean defectors did not affect sociocultural adjustment. Third, self-efficacy influenced sociocultural adjustment. Fourth, self-efficacy influenced the life satisfaction in South Korea. Fifth, sociocultural adjustment influenced the life satisfaction in South Korea. Based on these results, we provided theoretical and practical implications.
