Separation of the Korean Peninsula was begun with ideologicalbipolar confrontation between the United States and Soviet Union. It was Formed after World War Ⅱ and was Maintained on their interests.
The collapse of the Soviet Union, however, broke the bipolar system between the United States and the Soviet Union and ended the ideological confrontation and cold war era Thus, on the Map of international relationships the United States appeared as the only superpower with the European Union, Germany, China and Japan as new powers.
Together they formed a Multinational world system and caused changes in the Korean environment
In spite of the end of the cold war era, it is true the Lorean Peninsula remains separated because of little effort in relationship improvement between North and South Korea. There was an abuse in sustaining political power and a dependence on only international propaganda according to the changes of international phenomenon.
There has been little change in renuification policies or attempt to get international support for such renuification. Such a Strict adherence to antirenuification policies abated free and extensive nongovernmental renuification consultations. And overlooked basic efforts to prepare for renuification.
Specifically it was wrong that both North and South only suggested their own different systems to reunify the Peninsula, and made little effort to create an environment of renuification. Fuethermore, they can's deny the criticism that they relied only on the roles of their neighboring countris rather than on mutual resolutions on the subject of renuification.
This paper, based on the eritical thoughts above, focuses on creating a peaceful and stable reunification environment. In addition, this paper analyzes the foreign policies of China and the United States, specifically on North and South Korea and on the understandings of these countries in respect to the separation and reunification of the Korean Peninsula.
And, this paper suggests tasks and resolutions to induce praclically internal changes under alterable international situations, as a basis for the 21st century's united korea. Finally, this paper proposes assignments to create a peaceful and stable reunification environment through analyzing the relationship expectations between South Korea and China and North Korea and the United State, in their reunification policy for the Korean Peninsula.
