The paper aims to review and analyze the Central Military Commission(CMC) of the Korean Worker's Party and predicts the agenda of the organization to be dealt with in 2021. The CMC's role and status have been steadily strengthened since the 3rd Conference of Party Representatives in October 2010 when Kim Jong Un was appointed to the vice chairman of the organization, and it became a permanent body by the revised party convention. Now the 7th CMC, which has been held seven times so far, is executing reinforced authority over personnel affairs such as making decisions on summons and supplementary elections of the members and awarding the military ranks by the Chairman's sole order. In addition to that, rather than strengthening party control over the military, the 7th CMC tends to focus on military strategies and policy-making following the North Korea-US denuclearization negotiations. The CMC is expected to solidify its position as North Korea's top military guidance organization and expand its influences in the next few years. As the 8th Party Congress is scheduled to be held in January 2021, the CMC will be convened at least once by the end of the year and will likely focus on establishing a plan to develop defense capabilities in 2021 under the keynote of strengthening self-defense capabilities.
