태국에 불법 체류하며 탈북 브로커를 사칭해 "북한에 남은 가족들을 탈북시켜 주겠다"고 북한이탈주민(탈북민)들을 속여 돈만 가로챈 40대가 국제 공조수사로 경찰에 붙잡혔다.
경기 평택경찰서는 사기 혐의로 40대 남성 A씨를 태국 현지에서 체포해 국내로 송환한 뒤 9일 검찰에 구속 송치했다.

한미 양국이 도널드 트럼프 대통령 취임 후 처음으로 장관급 회담을 갖고 외교안보 분야 협력 강화를 재확인했다. 대북정책에서의 '패싱' 우려를 덜어냈고, 한미일 3국 협력과 '북한 비핵화'를 공식화한 것도 성과였다. 다만 정상간 외교를 중시하는 트럼프 행정부 기조에 따라 경제안보를 총괄한 협의 자체는 이뤄지지 않았다. 관심을 모았던 관세 문제에 대해서도 우리 측 입장을 전달하는데 그쳤다.
