...how the pattern in which leaders reflect public opinion in determining the level and method of response differs depending on the type of provocation by North Korea and the leader's approval rating, and what effect this has on the change of the approval rating. It further explains why the audience cost theory and the elite cue theory are not appropriate in the process of analyzing domestic cases.
