백두산의 북한 영토가 유네스코(UNESCO) 세계지질공원에 등재됐다.
북한의 첫 세계지질공원이다.
세계지질공원은 지구과학적으로 특별한 중요성을 지닌 지역을 보존하고자 지정되며 세계유산(World Heritage), 생물권보전지역(Biosphere Reserve)과 함께 유네스코 3대 자연환경 보전 지정 제도다.

북한의 백두산이 10일 유네스코(UNESCO) 세계지질공원으로 등재됐습니다.
세계지질공원은 세계유산(World Heritage), 생물권보전지역(Biosphere Reserve)과 함께 유네스코 3대 자연환경 보전 지정 제도로, 지구과학적으로 뛰어난 가치를 지닌 지역을 보존하고 지속 가능한 발전을 도모하기 위해 유네스코가 승인하는 곳입니다.
