취임 후 1년 반이 지났고 2018년 11월 6일 중간 선거(midterm elections)를 앞두고 있는 트럼프 대통령 시대 미국 정치 변화와 지속의 구체적 모습은 무엇인가? 또한 6월 12일 개최된 싱가포르 북미정상회담의 의미와 전망은 미국의 국내 정치적 맥락에서 어떻게 이해될 수 있을까? 본 연구는 우선 미국의 경우 국내정치와 외교정책이 어떻게 연결되어 있는지 살펴본다. 그리고 트럼프 대통령이 추진했던 주요 정책들을 행정 명령과 의회 입법으로 분류하여 알아보고 트럼프 대통령과 의회 공화당의 관계를 분석한다. 이후 공화당 대통령이 공화당 의회와 더불어 추진하는 북한 비핵화 협상의 미국 국내정치적 특수성을 살펴보며 향후 북한의 비핵화 이행 과정에서 제기될 수 있는 정치적 갈등의 가능성을 짚어 본다. 특히...
